about Patty

With more than 35 years of experience in interior architecture and design experience, I have seen all kinds of projects, all kinds of setbacks, and all kinds of beautiful results. After getting my degree in interior architecture and design, from Bassist College in Portland, Oregon, in 1982, I've handled all kinds of projects, from new homes to residential remodels to commercial projects. In 1992 I started my own business and have been enjoying my own clients and projects since then.

Born and raised in Flathead Valley, I have an acute understanding of Montana style and beyond. After living and working in Seattle and Portland for many years, I have extensive experience with a variety of projects, types of homes, and personal styles. I’ve been self employed for most of my career which has allowed me to have a closer understanding of my clients’ needs, as well as a personal investment in every project.

I believe that your home should be a reflection of you. My speciality is creating great spaces that flow easily and reflect your style. My philosophy is simple, form follows function. Beauty in a home is great, but beauty without function for your everyday life doesn’t cut it in my designs. Beauty and practicality meet where your personal needs and style are understood and implemented.

With so many years of experience, I’m privileged to often have repeat clients, many of which have grown from great clients to great friends. If you’d like to hear about their experiences, please see my website!

Not in Montana? No problem! I’ve designed jobs from Hawaii to the Bay Area to the Tetons without leaving the office, so I’m very familiar with completing projects remotely.

If you’re interested in remodeling your home, making changes to architectural plans on a new build, or designing your new home from scratch, please reach out me!

About my process

At our first face-to-face meeting:

  • Field measure the existing space as it relates to the project

  • Gather information about your priorities and goals

  • Get to know your personal style and taste

  • Discuss your budget & approximate cost of my time

Back to the drafting board

  • Draw the existing layout (as built) using measurements from first meeting

  • Create problem-solving ideas using tissue overlays

Second Meeting

  • Review of the tissue overlays, discussing pros & cons of each design option

  • Discuss your preferences based on your goals and priorities
